Expositions Of Art and Paintings Inside The Restaurant
The restaurant is also used to show paintings and other art, made by local artists. From september 2008 there is an exposition of handmade paintings showing distinct buildings and views in the region and surrounding villages of lake Barragem da Bravura. Even the restaurant itself has been painted, as can be seen on top of this webpage (Click on the pictures to enlarge).
...these paintings are being made by 80-year old Wellsman DAFYD, who lives only a few km's from the reservoir. Despite his age he still enjoys painting in his little studio and certainly has an eye for details. With vivid colors he makes his paintings come alive and they certainly have a
positive effect on the viewer and on the atmosphere in the restaurant.
If you are interested in one of his paintings.... they are for sale. So come and have a look inside Hansel & Gretel and enjoy the hard labour of this distinct artist. And maybe you'll even take one home....

Opening Hours:
Hansel & Gretel is open every day, all year round, from 11.00 till 18.00 h while Monday is the only closing day.
Exceptions can be made for groups of 4 or more persons.
- Make a walk and have a lunch.... or have coffee & homemade apple pie.
- Take a look at the highlights of the lake (pier, monument, dam, views) and start or finish with a delicious omelet an' coffee.
- Grant yourself a day to remember : at arrival you have coffee & pie, then you go play a few funny games in alternating smaller groups, you go for a reviving walk (choose from 10 different ones!) and then have an appetizing pancake with sublime icecream....... mmmmmm!
- Organise your own private party with friends, family, relatives, collegues, golf mates, club members, ..... Or leave it all to Witch Gretel and Magician Hansel to come up with great ideas, live or disco music, funny things to do and of course.....arrange nice food & drinks.
On Sunday 27th. MAY 2012 we will continue with our famous "LAZY SUNDAY AFTERNOON LIVE MUSIC". After the great success of last March we want to organise it EVERY 3RD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH. So Margareth and Erik will be performing as "MUSIC 2 YOU". Those of you who have been on one of these afternoons before, know that there will be live music performed by the owners themselves on the outside terrace, while you can enjoy a drink, nice food and the cosy and friendly atmosphere. You can take your friends or relatives and spend a nice afternoon. It´s fun, you can make a dance and of course FREE entrance! But free reservations are strongly advised, because last month we were completely booked! The LIVE MUSIC starts at 13.30 and ends at 17.30.
